Job description

A US-based company on a mission to build sustainable retail solutions for luxury brands and businesses is looking for an Automation QA Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for building, monitoring, and executing automation tests for the platform. The company is using advanced technology and end-to-end operations to elevate the shopping experience for premium and luxury brands. It has managed to raise $100mn+ during their Series D round of funding.

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Actively participate in every phase of the software development
  • Work across a cross-functional team comprising engineering, DevOps, product, and operations to build software in line with the product requirements
  • Perform automation testing regularly to ensure smooth functioning of key applications, services, and features 
  • Identify bugs, unit test, and augment test automation suites to maintain high software velocity
  • Automate as much testing effort as possible with a minimal set of code
  • Monitor and maintain high technical standards from design to architecture and implementation
  • Continuously integrate software deploying tools such as Bitbucket Pipelines, CircleCI, GitLab CI/CD, and GitHub Actions
  • Review other engineers’ code and receive feedback on your own test automation code 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer 
  • Passion for delivering well-built software within tight deadlines
  • A minimum of 2+ years of experience in web test automation
  • At least 1+ year(s) of experience implementing API test automation
  • Extensive experience in Javascript (Node.js, Cypress, Typescript, Jest) and Bitbucket 
  • Demonstrable experience using modern tools and frameworks like Cypress, Playwright and/or Jest
  • Prior experience with POSIX shell scripting using Bash and Zsh
  • Experience version/source control tools like Git is preferred
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented and functional programming concepts and patterns
  • Nice to have experience implementing automated unit, database integration, component, and/or performance/load tests
  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines from scratch is a plus 
  • Experience using containerization technologies is nice to have 
  • Previous experience working in a Continuous Development/Delivery context
  • Ability to take accountability for projects 
  • A positive attitude with a sense of humor is a plus 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
