Job description

A cutting-edge AI research and development company is on the lookout for candidates with strong mathematical skills and problem-solving prowess. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of high school-level mathematics, particularly at the JEE level, and the ability to solve intricate problems, explain solutions clearly, and manage time effectively.

What does day-to-day look like:

You will spend your time solving a variety of advanced high school math problems, including those at the JEE level, and crafting thorough explanations. Here are a couple of examples of the types of problems you might encounter:

  • Use matrix algebra to solve a set of linear equations and provide a detailed step-by-step explanation.
  • Calculate the area between a hyperbola and a line using definite integrals and explain the method comprehensively.
  • Tackle challenging problems involving limits, continuity, and differentiation, typical of JEE Advanced level questions.

Note: Strong foundation in high school mathematics is required, but no other specialized domain experience is needed.

  • Mathematical Proficiency: Strong skills in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus at the high school level or JEE level.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to approach complex problems systematically and creatively.
  • Explanation Skills: Capacity to break down solutions into clear, understandable steps.
  • Time Management: Ability to solve problems efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining mathematical concepts.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to work with various types of math problems and student needs.
  • Commitment: Ability to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Technical Setup: Desktop/Laptop with a reliable internet connection and necessary software for mathematical computations and online collaboration.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Physics, or a related field. We are open to candidates who have demonstrated exceptional math skills without a formal degree.
  • Experience in tutoring or teaching mathematics at the high school or JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) level.
  • Familiarity with standardized test formats and requirements for JEE Main and Advanced exams.
  • Knowledge of mathematical software and tools is a plus (e.g., LaTeX, Google Colab).

  • Competitive salary based on experience and expertise.
  • Opportunities for professional development and advancement.
  • Collaborative work environment with other math enthusiasts.
  • Flexible working hours and remote work environment.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI projects with leading LLM companies.
  • Potential for contract extension based on performance and project needs.

Application Process:

  • Shortlisted candidates will be sent an online math assessment.
  • Candidates who pass the assessment will be invited for an interview.
  • Successful interviewees may be asked to conduct a short mock teaching session.
  • From start to finish, the process typically takes about two weeks.
